The “Mirëdita, dobar dan” festival is an annual event that has been taking place every year since 2014. “Mirëdita, dobar dan!” festival merges the art, culture, advocacy, and public debate in one platform, which makes it unique of its kind. By bringing together artists, human rights and peace activists, and opinion makers from Kosovo and Serbia, the festival enriches regional perspectives and fosters cooperation and peacebuilding. Besides presenting the best of the contemporary art scene, essential part of the festival are public debates and advocacy actions.
The main aim of the festival is to present the cultural scene of Kosovo to Serbia and vice versa, and through the meeting of Kosovo and Serbia’s cultural society representatives, achieve an exchange of artistic ideas and create a tradition of collaboration. Through an exchange of artistic ideas, debate, and discussions about current social and political issues, the festival contributes to the general aspirations of permanent peace establishment and the normalization of relationships between Serbia and Kosovo.
Bekim Fehmiu, Albanian, Kosovo, Belgrade, Yugoslav and world actor – a symbol of joint past, together with all its challenges, achievements, and misunderstandings, was and is an inspiration for establishment and realization of the festival.
Visitors of the festival will have an opportunity to learn more about the cultural scene of Kosovo and Serbia – theatre, film, music, and visual artwork. Besides the above mentioned, public debates which will critically examine relationships between Serbia and Kosovo from the standpoint of inheritance from the past, as well as perspective for cooperation in the area of economy, trade, education, sport, civil sector and all segments of the society, will be held.
