12th ‘Mirëdita, dobar dan!’ Festival Held in Pristina

The 12th edition of the Mirëdita, dobar dan! festival was held from 20–22 November 2025 in Pristina. Since its foundation, the festival has served as a unique platform for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, connecting their cultural and artistic scenes and bringing to the forefront the complex realities of the two societies. Offering a rare space to reflect on a burdensome past and to envision a shared future, the festival remains a haven in times when nationalist rhetoric is on the rise — not only in the region, but globally.

This year’s program presented both established and emerging artists from the Belgrade cultural scene. The opening ceremony featured addresses by Kushtrim Koliqi (from Integra), Tijana Đuknić (from YIHR Serbia), Rainer Rudolph, the German Ambassador to Kosovo, and Majlinda Mazelliu, Director of the British Council for Kosovo and Albania. The ceremony was followed by a concert by Pliš.

The second day offered a debate and a literary reflection inspired by books published by Propeace, The Moment War / Peace Started for Me, gathering authors Marija Ratković, Arber Selmani, and editor Vladimir Arsenic for an insightful discussion. The day also featured two exhibitions — one by Ivan Šuletić and another by Mihaela Vučinić and Nemanja Joković — curated by Mia David. Participants also had the opportunity to attend the theatre play All Good Barbies, a production by Hartefakt, directed by Đorđe Nešović.

The festival’s final day brought a dynamic program, including a debate on Kosovo–Serbia relations featuring panelists Branimir Đurović, Dimitrije Prokopović, Vjosa Çerkini, and Vullnet Krasniqi, moderated by Tatjana Lazarević. The audience also experienced the poetry of Radmila Petrović and a screening of the film 78 Days by Emilija Gašić.

The festival concluded with an award ceremony, during which the award was presented to Lindita Sejdiu, founder of the Department of Balkanistics at the Faculty of Philology in Pristina.

The “Miredita, dobar dan!” festival is organized by Integra (Kosovo), Youth Initiative for Human Rights (Serbia), and Civic Initiatives (Serbia), with support from the National Endowment for Democracy, the European Union, the Rockfeller Brothers Fund, ProPeace – Kosovo, and the Barabar Centre.

“Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans” (CC4WBs) is a project funded by the European Union that aims to foster dialogue in the Western Balkans by enhancing the cultural and creative sectors for increased socio-economic impact.
