KROKODIL (Literary Regional Gathering which Alleviates Boredom and Lethargy) is a literary festival which in a unique and original manner represents the regional literature in its full scope – without generation, poetic, gender or any other exclusivities. Through its modern and dynamic approach to presentation of writers, which is comprised of reading with utilization of modern video and audio media, musical-scene performance, as well as wide selection which includes poetry, prose and dramatic text, the KROKODOL festival has, since its establishment in 2009, become one of the most visited literary events in the region. So far, eight festivals have been held with participation of more than fifty writers from country, region and Europe.

The KROKODIL association is comprised of a small team of people gathered around the idea of presenting the literature and the reading culture in a refreshing, new and different manner. The basic mission of KROKODIL festival is to approach the audience with books and reading, establish dialogue and modern approach to ossified forms of literary promotions in a fun, pop manner, but also with a serious message.

The KROKODIL festival was designed at the beginning of 2009 in cooperation between two publishers – Samizdat B92 and VBZ Belgrade and their editors Lidija Kusovac, Vladimir Arsenijevic and Ana Pejovic, as well as the municipality of Savski venac.
