Rona Nishliu, born in Mitrovica, Kosovo, is an iconic figure of contemporary Albanian culture and a prominent Jazz/Soul singer, loved by millions, at home and abroad. Starting her career at a very early age and building her artistic and public profile on her stunning vocals and versatile skills, Rona Nishliu represents a young generation of Albanian artists who in the past decade have transformed the Albanian cultural and music scene, both in Prishtina and Tirana.

Rona Nishliu is the only Kosovo Albanian singer to have ever won the renowned Albanian Radio Television Song Festival, which brings the best of Albanian pop musicians to the annual contest of harmony, flare and fashion. Rona claimed the coveted prize of the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Albanian Radio Television Song Festival, which opened the doors to her ground-blazing participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with her unforgettable rendition of Suus (#5). In the words of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reporter to Baku “no one makes the Hall of Crystals vibrate like Rona Nishliu”, while Corriere della Sera compared Rona Nishliu to Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin.

Rona Nishliu is in essence a live-concert artist and story-teller who thrives in direct contact with the audience. Willing to experiment and test her limits, she is used to surprising and delighting audiences with her powerful blend of soul, jazz and traditional motifs.
