Festival “Mirdita, dobar dan! “, which will be held in Belgrade from September 18-21, introduces Belgrade public to the cultural scene of Kosovo. We wish these encounters to become a tradition and continually contribute to establishment of permanent peace and normalization of relationships between Serbia and Kosovo.

Bekim Fehmiu, Albanian, Kosovo, Belgrade, Yugoslav and world actor – a symbol of joint past, together with all of its challenges, achievements and misunderstandings, served as inspiration for establishment and realization of the festival.

Visitors of the Festival will have the opportunity to become introduced to the cultural scene of Kosovo – theatre, film, music, and visual artwork. Besides the above-mentioned, public debates which will critically examine relationships between Belgrade and Pristina from the standpoint of inheritance from the past, as well as perspective for cooperation in the area of economy, trade, education, sport, civil sector and all segments of the society, will be held.

Rona Nishliu, jazz singer from Pristina, known by European public for her excellent performance and placement at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 held in Baku, will ceremonially open the festival at the premises of Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. The film scene of Pristina will be represented by films of Blerta Zeqiri, the winner of Sundance and Sarajevo film festival, as well as the films from the student festival named SKENA UP, which will bring young authors from Kosovo to Belgrade. The already famous theatre director Bekim Lumi will introduce himself to the audience with his play “The Dealers”, together with the rising star of Pristina theatre, Kalterim Balaj. The audience in Belgrade will also have the opportunity to enjoy in the poetry, literature, and other forms of artwork of Kosovo.

The Festival will be held in the period from September 18 – 21 at different locations across the city (Center for Cultural Decontamination, Cultural Center ˝Grad˝, Cultural Center ˝Parobrod˝ and other locations), and the entry to all events will be free of charge.

The Festival is organized by: Civic Initiatives, Policy Center and Integra from Pristina, and supported by forumZFD for West Balkan and Kosovo Foundation for Open Society from Pristina.
